Giovanni Valera-Campos

About Me
Giovanni Valera-Campos is a graduate of Woodbury University, earning his bachelor's degree in game design. While there, he focused his studies on game design. He is a pleasant and easy person with whom to work. Giovanni has worked on designing and programming games in college and also as a past time. The games that he worked on range from 2D, 3D, and VR across several genres. He learned the importance of being a team player but also taking lead of the team to put them on track to finish a project. One project consisted of eight different roles. Giovanni was assigned to Gameplay/UX and Programming. Even though there was no lead person for gameplay or design, Giovanni took it upon himself to help each role to communicate with each other in order to guide the team to complete their work by deadline.
His career didn't start in Woodbury University, it started in East Los Angeles Community College which he pursued a bachelor's degree in computer Science. There he learned programming which include, C++, C#, and Java. After learning about Woodbury University and its program of Game Art & Design, he decided to transfer their to pursue his long life goal of game design. Giovanni has worked primarily on Unity and coding in C# but is not shy in learning new game engines or new programming languages. He is adept at Unreal Engine and C++ as well as Java and Python.
Giovanni was born in Los Angeles, California, where he has lived for most of his life and has been a gamer since the age of three. At a young age, he appreciated how games are fun and bring joy, yet also learned their capacity to tell amazing stories and experiences. Presently, Giovanni resides in East Los Angeles where he enjoys playing games, listening to music, polishing his coding, as well as learning new programming languages and Unreal Engine.
